October 20, 2011. Liz and Steve Alderman were awarded the 2011 Citizens Medal from President Barack Obama at a ceremony today at the White House. The Citizens Medal, created in 1969, recognizes U.S. citizens who have performed exemplary deeds of service for their country or their fellow citizens. Read articles in the press or view video.
We are thrilled to announce the publication of the third issue of The African Journal of Traumatic Stress, edited by PCAF Senior Advisor, Prof. Seggane Musisi. The Inaugural Issue was introduced on July 7, 2010 in Nairobi, Kenya at the Peter C. Alderman Third Regional Conference on Psychotrauma, followed by the second issue in December 2010.

November 12, 2011. Recovery From Trauma: Lessons from Ground Zero and Beyond, a one-day conference sponsored by PCAF, the NYU–Bellevue Program for Survivors of Torture and the Master Scholars Program in Medical Humanism, was held today at the NYU-Langone Medical Center. Thank you to our panelists, representatives from many of the city’s major academic institutions, and the over 200 mental health professionals and students who attended the event. April 22, 2011. AIDSTAR-One and USAID have just published a case study on PCAF's work in Northern Uganda entitled Prioritizing HIV in Mental Health Services Delivered in Post-Conflict Settings. This study, part of a series on integrating mental health care in treatment for HIV/Aids, was conducted by John Snow International. Read the Report.
